IAHA - CIA

In 2004, I attended the International Association of Historians of Asia conference in Taipei to present a paper on (what else?) Singapore cartoons.

In KG Tregonning's Merdeka and Much More (2010), it was revealed that IAHA was funded by the CIA during the Cold War. (p. 73)

Oh well.

火云邪神

Not as good as the first series but still booast of some of the best covers I have seen this year.

These are the covers for the first series.

Still reading 龙虎门漫画 all these years.

2 of the best comics I've been reading

Adaptation of Ip Man the prequel. More background story and nicely told.

The 8th Copper Man in Shaolin.
Retelling of the famous Shaolin/Zhang Sanfeng 张三丰 story by the very hip Taiwanese writer Giddens 九把刀. It's hot even in Thailand!
Watch out for the next Giddens comic book - 功夫!

Both can be found at Kino or Comics Connection.

Friends of Lulu

I remember going for a FoL meeting of the New York chapter back in Dec 2000.

10 years later, it's on the verge of closing shop.
